Description
This is a fine example of an antique Scottish clan brooch. Dating from around 1875, the solid silver brooch is large and magnificent and in good unrestored condition. The brooch is of course hand crafted and measures a large 48mm [4.8cms] high x 36mm [3.6cms] wide, so a significant statement; a centre-piece to any outfit. It is set with one large citrine stone and six agate stones. The stones are locally mined and of course genuine. They are beautifully cut and in good condition. All stones are firmly intact.
The silver base is beautifully engraved and the pin is in good condition, with no issues. The silver is marked ‘Sterling silver’. A very special brooch, full of charm and history, and will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy. I have put the brooch in a new, quality box, for safekeeping.
