Description
This is a stunning, rare solid 18ct gold Victorian snake brooch - a very fine antique piece. I deal mainly in vintage and antique watches but include a piece of jewellery from time to time, if I find something of high quality.
The brooch is set with 2 en cabachon emeralds and 3 rose cut diamonds. All of the stones are a genuine mined gemstones of high quality. The brooch dates from around the 1870s, during the Victorian era. The snake represented eternity, love and devotion to the Victorians. The brooch is a very fine example of Victorian jewellery craftsmanship and has just been professionally polished. It is not hallmarked; which is not unusual in Victorian jewellery. The brooch measures 96mm in length and weighs 10gms and has a hollow centre, a work of fine craftsmenship.
A special brooch that will be much admired. It will provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to enjoy. I have put the brooch in a new presentation box, for safekeeping.
