This is a simply beautiful gents watch by IWC Schaffhausen, who need no introduction. The watch dates from 1952 and is in excellent, clean all-original condition with no significant wear. It features a stunning original, unrestored dial, a solid 18ct gold case, high-grade IWC 17 jewel hand-movement [Cal 89], centre-seconds hand and original crown. The watch comes complete with a new, quality Hirsch strap and a new quality watch box.

Such is the high quality of the watch, I will include a six month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the running order. The solid 18ct gold case is in excellent, clean condition with no significant wear. It measures 32.5mm wide, excluding the original unsigned crown x 39.5mm long including the lugs. The back closes tightly and the inside is signed ‘IWC’, ‘Probus Scafusia’, reference number ‘1275952’ and carries the appropriate Swiss hallmarks for solid 18ct gold.

The original, unrestored dial is in mint clean condition. The alternate dart hour batons and numbers are applied and the dial is signed ‘International Watch Co’, ‘Schaffhausen’ and ‘Swiss’. The original hands, including centre-seconds hand, are in excellent unbent condition and the lens is very clear.

The hand-wound 17 jewel movement [Cal 89] is in very good working order and features Geneva striping and gold jewel chatons. It is signed ‘International Watch Co’, ‘Swiss’ and the movement reference number ‘1243212’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order.

This beautiful watch comes complete with a new, quality Hirsch leather strap. The watch will be posted in a new quality watch box, for safekeeping and for easy wrapping as a gift to truly remember.
